CiaoTOUCH was founded by Franco Di Bartolo in 2002. Franco Di Bartolo is an electronic engineer who achieved 10 years of experience in hardware and software development, while working for Semtech Corp. (SMTC).
In 2002, after leaving Semtech Corp., motivated by his friends at Pepe Rosso
To-Go, Franco Di Bartolo started developing his own restaurant software called CIAOPOS 2002. The idea was to have a POS solutions that are affordable for small to medium size restaurants.

By the end of 2003 the software was first installed at Pepe Rosso To-Go (149 Sullivan St, NYC).
This small restaurant makes a lot of deliveries every day.
Therefore, they need to computerize in order to keep a customer database.
Pepe Rosso helped CiaoTOUCH in debugging the software, improving functionality.
Franco Di Bartolo software engineer and with his experience as a waiter, when he was a college student, put his part since he had worked with other POS software, such has Aloha and Micros.
After 18 months, CiaoTOUCH was founded, Franco software and hardware has been installed in more than 50 restaurants in the New York City area, and every body is happy with it.
